Nextcloud Mail Relay

Nextcloud Mail Relay is a privately operated service used by a personal Nextcloud installation to send outgoing email, such as account notifications and password-reset messages, through a Gmail account.

How it works

The service connects Nextcloud's outgoing mail system to Gmail using Google's OAuth 2.0 authorization. The account owner authorizes the connection, and the relay uses the resulting authorization to send mail requested by the Nextcloud installation.

Google account data

The service requests the Gmail access needed to send email through Gmail. It does not provide a general-purpose Gmail inbox, search, or message-reading interface. Email content and recipient information are processed to deliver messages initiated by Nextcloud.
